Another king Rama Chakravarthi donated more lands to the temple in the year 1541 and some more lands came around1619.
Some of the famous temples of Gunaseelam, Thottiyam, Tiru Engoimalai, Uthamarkoil and Tirunarayanapuram are near this temple. As the temple is a little away from the main place, visitors should inform the priest in advance to ensure his presence.
All the 27 stars have had a darshan of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvathi in this temple. Star Revathi continued to worship here praying for the great mercy of the divine parents. Those who have been named Revathi or belong to Revathi star should make time to worship in this temple or at least on their annual star day and offer to Lord and Mother 27 numbers of any auspicious article as 27 Mangal Sutras, 27 blouse bits or 27 food packets and distribute them to the devotees visiting the temple to realize their wishes in life. They are also advised to perform milk abishek to Lord before 12 minutes of the beginning of Aswini star till the end of Revathi star. This provides betterment in life for Revathi starrers
Chandran married all the stars. (Of the 27 stars Aswini is the first and Revathi is the last). They wanted to have the darshan of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvathi. Mother was so merciful and granted darshan to them with Lord. Lord is called Kailasanathar and Mother Karunakaravalli. Kar in Tamil means rain clouds and they are 7 in numbers who worship in the temple on Revathi star days. Any special puja performed to Varuna the God of Rain on a Sunday combined with Tiruvadhirai star or Revathi star would bring sufficient rains to lead to prosperity. This is a special temple for farmers.
