The presiding deity Lord Tiruvaneshwar graces facing east and Mother Goddess grace facing south in a standing form.
It is unique that His Holiness Kanchi Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi chose this temple for meditation and camped here for a week. It is believed donating clothes of different colour to por washes off the wrong doings off people. Worshipping the Lord on star days develops mental stability and wisdom. .
Sahadeva is considered to be a person of great virtue, knowledge and selfless mind. On Duryodhana’s request he selected an auspicious day for Kauravas o start the war and gave it to him. It is a belief that worshipping in this temple would ensure such knowledge and noble mind to the devotee.
Kala Bhairava, created seven days under the Poorattadhi star, took them on an elephant in procession which is believed to have happened in this place. Vimana of the presiding deity is called Gaja Kataksha. Iravadham elephant (white elephant) and Indira worship in this temple on Poorattadhi star days.
